YX2003 is a high-end laser particle size analyzer newly developed with size ranges 0.04~600µm. It is characterized by automatic focusing, automatic alignment on light path, automatic adding and draining water,timer-controlled ultrasonic and adjustable flowrate etc. In addition to the program becomes more flexible and functional. YX-2003 is an LPSA with more automation, easier operation in higher performance. It adopts imported semiconductor as laser to realize larger power, longer service life and better chromaticity; large-sized photocell array was specially designed and producted by advanced technique of large-scale integrated circuit and works with high sensitivity. Twelve backward detectors extends the minimum size range to minimum size range to as low as 40 nanometer; it uses centrifugal circulating and dispersing pump when adding sample;it is based on full-course Mie theory and can process data by many distribution patterns; adopt of innovative technology and manufacturing techniques like high-precision data transforming and processing circuit make it run fast with reliable accuracy, good repeatability and easy operation, a new generation of LPSA incorporating technologies of laser, computer and photolight.   1. Extend minimum size to nanometer range. Innovative photocell array is made up by 88 photocells with 68 forward, 8 side and 12 backword. The largest detecting angle reaches 168 degree. Escalator-shaped back photocell array in range of 105-168 degree is made up by 12 photocells with the same linearity and sensitivity in order to extend the minimum size to 40 nanometer.
  2. Extend maximum size to milimeter range. We use Furier lens with large aperture and long focal distance. Minimize the distortion and spherical abberation to extend the maximum size range to 600µm.
  3. Automatic 3D aligning module incorporates import stepping motor, precise guide and screw, monochip microprocessor controll module, program system and data recognizing system to realize precise location (1.3µm).
  4. Automatic circulating and dispersing system integrates centrifugal pump in 600-2500rpm, ultrasonic disperser switching among 15W, 30W and 50W, water adding and draining system, liquid level sensor and computer automatic control system. Through computer the operator can control water adding, draining, cleaning, dispersing, circulating, timing and rolling speed to realize automatic and intellegent particle sizing.

Program is the soul of an intellegent laser particle size analyzer, we develop it in VC++6.0 and it can be installed into common computer and linked by RS232 or USB to realize data acquisition, processing, results output and system control. So as that user can save, query, compare, edit, delete results and resort to help topics.

Laser particle size analyzer determine the size distribution of particles on basis of diffraction generated by particles lightened by laser. When illuminated by laser, some particles will generate diffraction, there will be an angle θ between direct beam and the scattered beam. Both diffraction theory and experiments tell us, θ involves size of particles and the bigger the particle is the smaller the generated θ, the smaller the particle is the bigger the generated θ. Further research shows intensity of scattered laser can be indicator of quantity of particles in such size, therefore by measuring the intensity of the scattered laser on more than one angles the size distribution of the sample is obtained.
